How to setup POP or IMAP mail

The simplest way to log into your CSEE email is to point a browser to mailhost.csee.ogi.edu. This will open the Horde webmail system.

The remainder of this document will describe how to setup either Mozilla Thunderbird or Microsoft Outlook to read your e-mail. Mostly this consists of:
  1. Entering the location of the Mail Server : mailhost.csee.ogi.edu
  2. Telling your program of choice your username and e-mail address
  3. Choosing POP or IMAP
Your choice of whether to use POP or IMAP depends on how you plan on using your e-mail account. POP will download all your messages and store them locally, optionally also leaving a copy on the server. IMAP will allow you to organize your e-mail into subdirectories in your home directory, only downloading messages for viewing.
